Breast Massage In Gainesville, FL Post-Operative Instructions
Once given the go-ahead by our team at John W. Tyrone, MD, PLLC, Plastic Surgery, patients may begin gentle breast massage as part of their post-operative care. Below, we have provided instructional videos to guide you through recommended techniques that support healing and help achieve optimal results.
- Outward exercise
- Put your fingertips on the inner sides of your breasts and apply gentle outward pressure for 10 seconds, and then release. We recommend doing this exercise three times, two times a day.
- Lower pole exercise
- Place your left hand flat, about 1–2 inches above the nipple on your right breast, and rest your right hand on top of it. Gently lift the breast upward toward your collarbone while applying light pressure inward toward your chest. You should notice the implant pushing outward at the bottom of the breast—this motion helps stretch the lower portion, encouraging the implant to settle into a natural position. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat the movement three times, twice a day. Follow the same process for the left breast.
- Inward cleavage exercise
- Position the palms of your hands with fingers extended behind each implant, near the sides of your chest, just beneath your armpits, where the implants begin. Gently press the implants together. Hold for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat this three times, twice daily.
- Upward exercise
- Using either the same side or the opposite hand, cup your breast beneath the natural crease and gently squeeze your thumb and fingers together. You should notice the implant shift upwards towards your collarbone. Hold this for 10 seconds and then release. We recommend doing this three times, twice daily on each breast. This exercise is also safe to continue long-term as it helps maintain the implant pocket and reduces the risk of capsular contracture.
