Restylane

Restylane is an FDA-approved, non-animal hyaluronic acid (HA) gel that helps provide fullness and elasticity to aging skin. Our skin loses HA as we age; therefore, Restylane injections will benefit the appearance and quality of your skin, considering HA is central to regulating cell growth and renewal.

How Restylane Works

Using a very fine needle, Restylane is injected into the superficial layers of the skin providing suppler, youthful-looking skin. It can effectively correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Restylane may also be used for lip enhancements, depending on the patient's desires.

The procedure is a very quick and simple process; Restylane injections can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the amount of correction needed. Injections are relatively painless, but a topical anesthetic can be applied if the patient prefers. It is common for temporary swelling or redness to develop following treatment; this will disappear within a few days.

Due to the fact that Restylane is composed of a natural substance of the body, there is little to no possibility of an allergic reaction developing. This often puts the prospective patient's mind at ease.

Results

Results are immediate and depending on the individual's age, skin structure, and lifestyle, treatments can last for an extended amount of time. There is little to no downtime as patients can return to their daily tasks as soon as the procedure is over. Restylane injections must be administered periodically to maintain desired results; individual treatment results typically last between six and nine months.
